On February 23, 2023, the Learning Counsel held their regional event in Houston Texas at Spring Branch ISD. The day was concluded with a panel consisting of Stephen W. McCanless, Superintendent, Cleveland ISD, Chad Greene, Director of Technology Operations, Klein ISD and Roger Egle, Director of Technology, Bridgeport ISD. These powerhouse eductors were there to discuss Educational Models, Workflow, and Change Management and how they were Leading the Learning Matrix.

Education is a critical component of society, as it plays a pivotal role in shaping the future. However, with technological advancements, the education sector is also evolving rapidly, and educators need to adapt to these changes to ensure that students receive quality education. In a recent conversation, a group of educators discussed the need to change the mindset of educators on how to deliver information to students.

The educators agreed that there needs to be buy-in not only within the district but also in the community. Parents, especially those who grew up in the traditional classroom environment, need to be educated on the importance of digital learning. The conversation also touched on the fact that the last generation that experienced entirely the traditional manufacturing model of education was the millennial generation. However, even they have experienced some form of the fractured model, such as homeschooling, charter schools, or private schools. The current generation of parents, the millennials, values family time and would not want their children to spend extended periods away from home. Therefore, it's essential to develop a model of education that is flexible, customizable, and adaptable to different learning styles.

The educators also discussed the importance of making the transition to digital learning easy and straightforward for everyone. If there are any hindrances or bumps in the road, people are likely to push back, and progress could be stalled. Therefore, educators must make it easy for everyone to accept and adapt to the new digital format. The easier it is, the quicker it will be adopted and become a success.
