Boxlight Corporation (BOXL), the leading provider of interactive technology solutions for the global education market, today announced that its MimioClarity™ classroom audio distribution system and Mimio MyBot educational robotics system both received ISTE Best of Show awards from Tech & Learning magazine. The awards were presented at the 2019 International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) annual conference in Philadelphia.

Now in its sixth year, the Tech & Learning Best of Show awards at ISTE 2019 highlighted outstanding products exhibited at the ISTE conference and expo. A panel of professional judges and editors selected the products that have the most impact in the classroom and show the greatest promise in the EdTech industry. The judges investigated participating products on the show floor and rated their impressions on a sliding scale, evaluating areas such as quality and effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology. They then held a meeting to decide which technologies could have the most impact in the classroom and thus deserved to be named Best of Show.

“This year’s ISTE show floor was besieged with incredible EdTech offerings—from the latest in coding, robotics, and makerspace gear to sophisticated upgrades in interactive hardware offerings,” said Tech & Learning’s Managing Director of Content Kevin Hogan. “And once again, our expert panel of judges kicked the tires. It’s a yeoman’s task, and we take it seriously in selecting these companies and their products.

The newly launched MimioClarity audio system works by having teachers use wearable, wireless microphones and a multichannel 60-watt amplifier to distribute their voices and multimedia audio throughout the classroom via two or four speakers that are placed above students’ heads on classroom walls.

The microphones stay charged for up to 10 hours with no dead zones, wind feedback, or boom effects. With MimioClarity RF, the microphones do not rely on being within the line of sight of the amplifier or speakers, nor do they compete with FM, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth frequencies. Additionally, teachers have two programmable buttons for control of the MimioStudio™ classroom software, Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, and other front-of-class software on the teacher’s computer.

The Mimio MyBot educational robotics system is a powerful and innovative program that enables students from pre-school to high school develop STEM skills and a passion for programming and robotics. Through innovative robots and a comprehensive software platform, educators receive an out-of-the-box solution complete with a robust curriculum, STEM lessons, tutorials, and videos.

The intuitive and easy-to-use interface is designed for education, allowing students to start in a simple drag-and-drop environment and grow into a powerful coding environment as their skills develop. Students can explore an extensive set of building components that can be used to create mobile and stationary mechanical systems to explore engineering principles from simple machines to advanced mechanisms. Furthermore, the Wi-Fi enabled Fusion™ robotic controller does not require any special software or cables to connect with the student workstation; all that’s needed to start learning is a web browser.

“Boxlight creates the world’s best interactive classroom technologies to improve the classroom experience for both students and educators,” said Mark Elliott, Boxlight CEO. “We are so honored to receive these awards for our newest product offerings. Our mission at Boxlight is to constantly deliver exceptional solutions that support teaching and learning through our full suite of integrated education technology products, so to be recognized for this award validates that mission.”
