Arizona’s Peoria Unified School District today announced the selection of Discovery Education Experience to support classroom instruction and distance learning for all K-12 students districtwide.  The expansion of Peoria Unified’s multiyear partnership with Discovery Education--the global leader in standards-aligned digital curriculum resources, engaging content, and professional learning for K-12 classrooms--ensures students served by all district schools have access to high-quality resources that enrich learning and extend it to the real world.

 Peoria Unified School District is nestled in the Northwest Valley of Peoria, Arizona and is home to 42 stellar public schools that are unique and created to fit the needs of all students. Peoria Unified is the choice district for more than 37,000 students and 4,000 staff, serving as one of the largest employers in the West Valley and one of the largest unified school districts in Arizona. The district has signature programs spread out between 34 kindergarten through eighth-grade elementary schools and eight high schools that excel in academics, arts, athletics and Career and Technical Education programs. 

 To meet the continuously evolving needs of students in the classroom and to enhance Peoria Unified’s existing Learning at Home initiatives, the district selected the award-winning Discovery Education Experience.  A flexible K-12 learning platform, Experience provides compelling high-quality content, ready-to-use digital lessons, unique collaboration tools, and professional learning resources that gives educators everything they need to facilitate instruction and create lasting educational impact. 

Built for all learners, grade levels, subject areas, and interests, Experience brings new excitement and relevance to the topics educators teach and reaches and engages every student wherever learning is taking place.  The integration of Experience into K-12 instruction complements Peoria Unified’s ongoing use of Discovery Education’s Science Techbook.

Used by students around the world, Discovery Education’s Techbooks are aligned to rigorous standards and updated regularly at no cost. Each Techbook is an immersive, digital curriculum that provides educators detailed lesson plans.  Science Techbook empowers educators to transform science instruction through a seamless print and digital curriculum that includes video, audio, text, interactives, hands-on activities, and virtual labs that help educators differentiate instruction and provide a rich and engaging learning experience for students. Additional student features include Spanish/English text-to-speech, leveled reading tools, note-taking, highlighting capabilities, and more.
