Accelerate Learning is adding a new dimension to its award-winning line of STEM curriculum solutions with the release of its first core mathematics program, STEMscopes™ Math. The online, comprehensive math curriculum launches this month in Texas.

In the first year, the new STEMscopes Math curriculum will be available for grades 3–5. The core program is built from the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), and it will be available in English and Spanish. Accelerate Learning will then expand the curriculum to grades K–8 and launch Common Core and custom state versions in the coming years. Like other STEMscopes products, STEMscopes Math will be customized to meet the exact state standards at each grade level.

Using the 5E plus Intervention and Acceleration lesson model, STEMscopes Math is designed to deepen student learning and make math more meaningful and relevant by revealing the wonder of math in the everyday world. It provides interactive learning using the Concrete Representational Abstract (CRA) approach. The curriculum features inquiry-based math investigations, virtual manipulatives, and interactive games to engage students as they build their understanding. It supports critical thinking and real-world exploration with open-ended, cross-dimensional tasks that promote a range of student approaches and responses in multiple contexts. In addition, the program drives purposeful math discussions to boost student collaboration and growth.

For teachers, STEMscopes Math provides embedded strategies for diverse learners, including English language learners and students who need additional support. With resources that cover everything from student expectations to career connections to small group interventions, teachers can create meaningful learning experiences that empower 21st-century skill integration and real-world application.

STEMscopes Math has partnered with MetaMetrics to include predictive assessments for each grade level to provide standards-based data and Quantile measures that track student progress and inform instruction.

“Six years ago, we launched the STEMscopes science curriculum in Texas, where it was quickly adopted by districts across the state. It is now used by 4.5 million students and 450,000 teachers in all 50 states,” said Dr. Vernon Johnson, president and CEO of Accelerate Learning. “With the addition of the hands-on, inquiry-based, standards-aligned STEMscopes Math curriculum, Texas teachers — and soon teachers across the country — will have a new tool to create effective math classrooms where every student is a motivated, engaged, successful STEM learner.”

STEMscopes Math is the newest addition to Accelerate Learning’s suite of STEMscopes solutions, which includes preK and K–12 science curricula and an engineering curriculum for grades 3–8. STEMscopes solutions can be used in 1:1, blended, and traditional classrooms.
