What makes Elevo unique?
Elevo’s mission is to transform the well-being of students, so they look forward to coming to school. That means taking a whole-child approach that supports students’ physical, mental, and academic health.
To bring this approach to life, Elevo relies on its dedicated, well-trained staff, called “Coaches,” who motivate and mentor the youth Elevo aims to inspire. Coaches exemplify Elevo’s mission, approach, and promise to students, schools, and families. They are the core of everything Elevo does.
Elevo’s consistent approach to Coach training and the design of their curricular framework allow them to customize programs and services to the exact needs of a district. One of their key strengths is their recruitment process. Hiring and retaining a diverse, high-quality workforce in a tight market takes experience and skill. Elevo has a sizable recruitment team and year-round partnerships with universities, colleges, and local referral networks.
Characteristics:
The design of Elevo’s curriculum was informed by evidence-based practice and research-based methodology, and uses a whole-child approach with the goal of all students finding success, being their authentic selves, and sharing their voice.
Three primary frameworks inform Elevo’s instructional design:
● The Universal Design for Learning framework, to ensure every child can be included in all activities;
● The Science of Learning Development framework, to leverage the power of relationships in childhood development to create meaningful learning experiences; and
● The Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model, to support positive student behavior. Elevo embeds tier 1 and 2 in their instructional design.
Elevo’s instructional design also incorporates frameworks and practices from The International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP), the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), the Center for Whole-Child Education (previously Turnaround for Children), and the Center for Youth and Wellness.
